Born and raised in a small working-class town (DuBois, Pennsylvania), I’ve always understood and appreciated the value of work. As the son of a union worker, I also saw the importance of workers having a voice and having representation when treated unfairly by an employer.
After high school, I attended West Virginia State College on a baseball scholarship. Later, I transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where I received a B.A. in Political Science and graduated magna cum laude in 2001. Prior to attending law school, I continued my education in History and Political Science at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
In 2007, I received my Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. During law school, I held a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance internship with the University of South Florida athletic department. Possibly the most valuable experience of my life was when I attended Gonzaga University School of Law in Florence, Italy, where my focus was International Human Rights and Civil Rights.
My entire legal career has been focused on employee rights litigation where I exclusively represent workers in legal claims against their employers. I have represented individual plaintiffs and classes of employees (class action and collective action) in connection with claims against companies large and small, including some of the largest and most powerful corporations in the United States. My representation of employees includes claims of discrimination (including violations of military rights), harassment, retaliation including whistleblowers and workers’ compensation, wage and hour (overtime, minimum wage, unpaid wages), FMLA, contract disputes, severances, and employer negligence.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Gina, who is an administrator in the Pinellas County School system. We are incredibly blessed with two sons, Xavier and Kyuss, who teach us valuable life lessons every day. We love to travel and are fortunate to have visited 38 U.S. states and 12 foreign countries. Our travel has provided the opportunity to learn about other cultures and meet people from around the world, which helps me to better serve my diverse clients.
