Miguel Bouzas FGBO Law

Miguel Bouzas is a co-founder and shareholder of Florin Gray Bouzas Owens, a law firm dedicated to protecting the rights of Florida’s employees.   Raised on Long Island, New York, Miguel later attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida, where he received his B.B.A. in International Business in 2003.   Miguel received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he graduated in 2007, Cum Laude.  During law school, Miguel was hired as a summer associate in the Tampa office of a large, regional law firm, where he gained experience in a variety of different practice areas.  By the end of the summer associate program, however, Miguel knew he wanted to be a labor and employment attorney.  The firm later offered Miguel a permanent position in the labor and employment group of the Tampa office, where he practiced management-side labor and employment law for six years prior to forming Florin Gray Bouzas Owens, P.A.

During his six-plus years of practice at his previous firm, Miguel represented a variety of regional, national, and international employers in state and federal civil litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings involving claims related to employment discrimination and retaliation, wage and hour laws, including minimum wage and overtime, family and medical leave laws, union-management relations, restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicitations, and non-disclosure agreements), and numerous common law torts applicable to the  employee/employer relationship.

Miguel’s extensive experience defending the very same type of employers he now litigates against has provided him unique insight into how employers analyze, litigate, and ultimately value employment related claims.  He now routinely uses the skills and experience he developed while defending employers to his client’s advantage in representing employees in their workplace related claims against their current or former employers.

A first generation Spaniard, Miguel is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to serving the Spanish speaking community in their workplace disputes.  When not advocating for the rights of Florida’s employees, Miguel enjoys visiting friends and family in New York and Spain, traveling to other cities and countries, and playing ice and inline hockey throughout Tampa Bay.
